I'd been out shopping looking for a wedding gift for my dear friend's daughter, and I was greatly surprised by the lack of quality and durability of some of these high end store's products. Some manufactures were passing off some of their baskets as high end and very expensive, when you couldn't even put fruit in it because what they were calling a picnic basket was nothing but a willow bowl! I was becoming so frustrated, that now it became my mission, because I didn't want to let the bride down.
So, I continued scouring all the high end stores, high quality craft stores and even the antique dealers a long the way in the 50 mile radius of me. My boyfriend John, (He's such a sweetheart & a great sport when I'm on "The Hunt" for something. He'll offer to drive me anywhere I want/need to go, in order for me to obtain my quest. He says he doesn't mind, it makes me happy. Told you he was great!) and I and even took a ride up north( NH) still would wind up with a big fat nothing!
Through out my search, If I did happen to come across a Willow Picnic Basket for 2, it was too small and definitely not what the bride had requested, nor was it up to my standards for being in a high-end store, known for their outdoor activities and accessories.
Then I thought I saw one! Oh My Goodness my heart was beating so fast and I could feel the tips of my fingers tingling. I was so sure that my search was over as my eyes became fixated on that particular basket. However, as I approached the display area in this well known establishment well known for their home decor and home accessories, (I really like this store!) I was so dismayed and disappointed to see that it was made of some sort of bark, and not at all the willow wood for a Willow Picnic Basket, which is more durable yet pliable. No, It was not what I was looking for at all.
I had been looking for a beautiful, stylish, high-end, updated Willow Picnicking Basket for 2, and it had to be durable, made of high quality willow and built with integrity, to last she and her groom a very long time.This was a request that was asked of me, from the bride herself, so naturally I wanted it to be the very Best Willow Picnic Basket for 2 on the market that I could find for her.
After 3 weeks of driving every where and getting no where, no matter where I shopped I could not find her a beautiful, high quality, stylish, durable Willow Picnic Basket, never mind one for 2 people! Oh I could find all other types of baskets, but they were not made for picnics.
